Meet Teresa – Founder of Metta Movement
Teresa has dedicated her life to teaching movement, from appearing on National TV and bestselling workout DVDs to managing timetables in London and Sydney’s hottest fitness clubs. In 2000, she trained intensively at the Merrithew Studios in Toronto then continued with her fully comprehensive training upon her return, opening her home reformer studio in Nottingham in 2005 while travelling the UK to tutor and assess instructor training Pilates Matwork Level 3 courses.
Since 2009, Teresa has worked tirelessly in her local community, continuously expanding her expertise with certifications including The Pink Ribbon Program for Breast Cancer Rehab, Pre, Post Natal and Menopause and most recently training for Motor Skills Application Specialist. She opened her small group reformer studio at Venue28 in September 2023, rebranding to Metta Movement in January 2024.
Teresa’s positive, friendly approach combined with decades of knowledge and experience creates an environment that keeps clients returning, embodying Metta Movement’s philosophy of inspiring people to move more without judgment.
Meet Jemma!
Jemma is a STOTT Instructor teaching in London and the South East.
Since gaining her certification Jemma has taught at various studios in and around London.
Originally trained as a dancer and working in the West End, Jemma is also a keen aerialist!
Her awareness of the body and core connection form a key part of her teaching as well as her focus on balance and alignment.
Jemma’s friendly and upbeat personality make her welcome addition to the Metta Movement team.
Meet Maria!
Maria trained professionally as a ballet dancer from the age of 11 at The Royal Ballet School and went on to perform professionally in musical theatre in the West End and on tour for 15 years. Maria has travelled the world with her work and holds many years of Pilates teaching experience.
She originally discovered the benefits of Pilates whilst on tour and found it a great way to stay strong and flexible during her demanding dance training.
Maria has gained her certifications through her trainings with both Stott and Polestar as well as the Pink Ribbon Certification for Breast Cancer Rehabilitation. She has now settled in London and continues teaching both 121 and group sessions around the city.
We know you will enjoy Maria’s sessions with her lovely, easy manner and clear, concise instructions. Make sure you book early!
Meet Christian!
Christian has a drive to help people get from where they are to where they want to be.
He has been working in the fitness industry since 2005, possessing over a decade and a half of experience in helping people from all walks of life achieve success. His key belief is that we are what we repeatedly do, and that by building lasting habits we can transform our minds and our bodies.
Christian has helped; ceos, sports people, celebrities and a vast array of age groups, to achieve success. He beliefs in working holistically with people; spiritually, mentally and physically, in helping to achieve their goals and to become all they can be.
Although Christian comes from a martial arts background, he now practices Pilates, Yoga and Tai Chi alongside his regular mix martial art conditioning routine which he has used to help countless clients get in shape.
Christian is super calm, super cool. His sessions are seemless and well thought out making sure you leave the studio having utilised every part of the reformer.
Meet Rebecca!
Bec is a STOTT- qualified Pilates matwork and reformer instructor. She has been practising Pilates for several years in both Sydney and London, developing a strong foundation in her work.
With a real focus on mind and movement, Bec believes in the power of alignment, breath, and mindful challenge to support both physical and mental well-being.
Her goal is to help you progress, strengthen, and lengthen — leaving each class feeling more positive, connected, and confident in your body, with just the right amount of challenge.
Bec’s teaching style is relaxed, yet taught with care, compassion, and attention to detail.
