Meet Teresa – Founder of Metta Movement
Teresa has dedicated her life to teaching movement, from appearing on National TV and bestselling workout DVDs to managing timetables in London and Sydney’s hottest fitness clubs. In 2000, she trained intensively at the Merrithew Studios in Toronto then continued with her fully comprehensive training upon her return, opening her home reformer studio in Nottingham in 2005 while travelling the UK to tutor and assess instructor training Pilates Matwork Level 3 courses.
Since 2009, Teresa has worked tirelessly in her local community, continuously expanding her expertise with certifications including The Pink Ribbon Program for Breast Cancer Rehab, Pre, Post Natal and Menopause and most recently training for Motor Skills Application Specialist. She opened her small group reformer studio at Venue28 in September 2023, rebranding to Metta Movement in January 2024, and is excited to launch her second Yoga and Pilates studio in Eden Park Beckenham in the Autumn of 2025.
Teresa’s positive, friendly approach combined with decades of knowledge and experience creates an environment that keeps clients returning, embodying Metta Movement’s philosophy of inspiring people to move more without judgment.

Meet Jemma!
Jemma is a STOTT Instructor teaching in London and the South East.
Since gaining her certification Jemma has taught at various studios in and around London.
Originally trained as a dancer and working in the West End, Jemma is also a keen aerialist!
Her awareness of the body and core connection form a key part of her teaching as well as her focus on balance and alignment.
Jemma’s friendly and upbeat personality make her welcome addition to the Metta Movement team.
Jemma teaches at both venues.
Meet Amy!
Amy has always enjoyed teaching and sharing her passion of movement.
Having qualified as a Matwork instructor with BASI she has also trained to teach on the Reformer, Cadillac and other equipment.
She has travelled the world working and currently performs onstage in London’s West End show “Mamma Mia – the Musical”.
Amy has studied a variety of dance forms and gained her Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education.
Amy’s classes are all about the small changes you can make to your workout to be able to get a deeper connection to work your body harder…you’ll love her!

Meet Christian!
Christian has a drive to help people get from where they are to where they want to be.
He has been working in the fitness industry since 2005, possessing over a decade and a half of experience in helping people from all walks of life achieve success. His key belief is that we are what we repeatedly do, and that by building lasting habits we can transform our minds and our bodies.
Christian has helped; ceos, sports people, celebrities and a vast array of age groups, to achieve success. He beliefs in working holistically with people; spiritually, mentally and physically, in helping to achieve their goals and to become all they can be.
Although Christian comes from a martial arts background, he now practices Pilates, Yoga and Tai Chi alongside his regular mix martial art conditioning routine which he has used to help countless clients get in shape.
Christian is super calm, super cool. His sessions are seemless and well thought out making sure you leave the studio having utilised every part of the reformer.

Meet Shauna!
Shauna began her Pilates training in 2004 as part of her college dance program, utilising it to enhance her dance technique throughout her career. She started her Pilates teaching journey with an apprenticeship in the classical method, later earning certification in a contemporary form of Pilates in 2020.
During her dance career, Shauna has performed with multiple professional dance companies and artists on both the East and West Coasts of the United States. Her choreography has won awards and has been commissioned by various dance companies and festivals.
Shauna’s love of movement has allowed her to teach Pilates internationally, drawing on her dance background to help clients understand movement within their own bodies.
Shauna’s friendly nature, professionalism and love of her work shines through in every class she teaches.. !

Meet Maria!
Maria trained professionally as a ballet dancer from the age of 11 at The Royal Ballet School and went on to perform professionally in musical theatre in the West End and on tour for 15 years. Maria has travelled the world with her work and holds many years of Pilates teaching experience.
She originally discovered the benefits of Pilates whilst on tour and found it a great way to stay strong and flexible during her demanding dance training.
Maria has gained her certifications through her trainings with both Stott and Polestar as well as the Pink Ribbon Certification for Breast Cancer Rehabilitation. She has now settled in London and continues teaching both 121 and group sessions around the city.
We know you will enjoy Maria’s sessions with her lovely, easy manner and clear, concise instructions. Make sure you book early!

Meet Rose!
Rose has been practising yoga since the age of eighteen, and was traditionally trained in the rigorous Iyengar Yoga method, qualifying as a level one Iyengar teacher in 2008, and level two in 2018.
She has taught yoga extensively with group and private sessions and recognises that everyone is individual with their own challenges and aspirations. Rose gets to know each student so she can collaborate with them to establish and enhance their experience of yoga.
As well as being a positive inspiration, Rose is a highly experienced and hugely popular, local Yoga teacher. All of her sessions are taught from a place of warmth, integrity and knowledge.

Nancie teaches Flow Fusion Yoga at Eden Park from October 13th
Meet Marie!
Marie is a mother to two girls, a meditation teacher, Sound Healer and EFT practitioner.
Pre-children, her work life was extremely busy and she found herself struggling with anxiety, burnout, and other challenging life situations.
Marie describes that discovering mindfulness meditation was the best thing that ever happened to her.
Having gone from stressed and depressed to calm and connected, she now has a passion for helping people on their own path to fulfillment and mindful living.
Bringing both lived experience and a nurturing spirit to her work she now supports others in reclaiming their calm, confidence, and joy.

Meet Laura !
Laura is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (International Association of Infant Massage), Massage in Schools Practitioner (MISA) and a Mum and Baby Yoga and Toddler Yoga Instructor (Birthlight).
She is passionate about supporting parents to bond with their babies, and helping to facilitate building their confidence and self-esteem.
Both of Laura’s children adored being massaged and are both happy, healthy and thriving. Laura wholeheartedly believes that practicing a nurturing touch with her babies from newborn has enhanced their special bond and given them a fantastic start in life.
Laura has been teaching her Mindful Movement courses locally for over 10 years and they always sell out.

Meet Clare!
With over a decade of local teaching experience, Clare brings a grounded, open-hearted approach to yoga that welcomes everyone, regardless of age, ability, or experience.
She is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher, having trained under internationally respected teacher Jason Crandell and is also qualified to teach Qigong through her studies with Mimi Kuo-Deemer. Her classes blend strength and stillness, movement and breath, always with the intention to help students feel good in their bodies.
Off the mat, Clare is deeply connected to the natural world. She is currently studying for a degree in environmental science and works in sustainability, an extension of her yoga practice and values. This holistic lifestyle informs her teaching, rooted in care for self, community, and the planet.
Known for her down to earth vibe and sense of humour, Clare encourages students not to take themselves too seriously. Her classes are an invitation to move, explore and reconnect, with breath, with nature and with each other.
